Theodora Talumba Mkali (PhD) is a Senior lecturer at The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA). She teaches Gender and the Law and is the Research Coordinator. She currently serves on the editorial committee for the African Journal for Contemporary Studies. She specialises in Human Rights Law with specific focus on the African human rights system, women’s rights, and Feminist Legal Theory. Her research focuses on the interpretation and application of the Maputo Protocol, alongside a keen interest in mining law.
She holds a Doctor of Laws (LLD) from Stellenbosch University where she was a Dean’s Bursary recipient and a Canon Collins Scholar; a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelors of Laws (LLB) (Honors) from the University of the Western Cape.
