Africa Gender Equality (AGE)
Africa Gender Equality Conference brings together over 3,000 participants from government, civil society, academia, gender equality advocates and activists to celebrate strides made in advancing gender equality and discuss solutions to emerging barriers and challenges, chiefly COVID19.
SHE Summit
The Strengthening and Harnessing collective voice and action to End violence against women and girls Summit (SHE Summit) is hosted by For Equality and brings together community, government, civil society and private sector actors to reflect, strategize and work towards one bold goal: ending violence against women and girls by 2030. Convened annually during the global 16 Days of Activism against GBV, the Summit strives to provides a platform for thought leadership, networking and deep conversation to shape the EVAWG agenda. The summit also prioritises youth inclusion as an essential, yet often lacking, component of decision-making in Africa. As such, it offers several opportunities for youth participation before, during and after the Summit including a youth pre-summit dialogue and social media campaigning.
Now in its third year, the SHE Summit 2021, will be held under the theme, “From 16 to 365 days: Reimagining financing for ending violence against women and girls”.
SHE Talks
#SheTalks is a dialogue space for conversations that matter to women and girls. Launched in January 2019, the #SheTalks have evolved to become our flagship programme and have since scaled up into 7 African countries.
We have used the #SheTalks to, create safe spaces to tackle sensitive issues such as safe abortion and GBV in communities; influence policy through engagement of policy makers and shapers; strengthen the women’s movement and foster sisterhood; create solutions to pressing global and local issues; mine data and generate knowledge products; and enhance knowledge and understanding of critical issues.
