Jennifer is a women’s rights advocate specializing in economic justice and rights, with over three years’ experience working in the field and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Gender and Development. Her work centres around designing and managing projects aimed at addressing structural inequalities that hinder the attainment of economic justice, this includes formulating feminist alternatives for policy change.
As an activist, she volunteers for women-led organizations such as UKANI Malawi where she has previously served as the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Coordinator and the Young Feminist Network where she has led the communications department and is now the Head of Events. In college, Jennifer co-founded and led a campus-based club called the ‘Bunda Gender Activists Club’ that works to amplify the voice of students to collectively stand against sexual harassment and co-create a safe campus for all.
In her time as the club president, she led the team in lobbying for the development of a sexual harassment policy. Jennifer is a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI-RLC) Cohort 9 Alumni and has moderated local and international conferences including the global Generational Equality Forum in March 2020. Jennifer joined For Equality in 2019 and has since led several social accountability projects and managed the #SheTalks platform, she now leads the economic justice and rights thematic area.
